Major Introduction : Electronic Science and Technology

Electronic Science and Technology Program of Beijing Jiaotong University was established in 2001. The program is supported by two first-level disciplines “Electronic Science and Technology” and “Information and Communication Engineering”. This program aims to foster engineering professionals with good knowledge of electronic science and technical skills for solving problems in electronic information field. This program includes three specialized areas: information processing and electron systems, electromagnetic fields and waves, microelectronics and solid state electronics.

In this program, there are now 62 teachers and professors, with 84 percent of whom have doctor’s degree and senior titles, 64 percent of whom have overseas study experiences, and 47 percent of whom have industry experiences.

With science-education integrations and university-industry collaborations, the program has built up an integrated innovation joint laboratory, a semiconductor devices processing and testing laboratory, a signal and image processing laboratory and other research platforms. At the meantime, the program has established many national-level teaching platforms, such as the National Teaching Base for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the National Experimental and Teaching Demonstration Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and the National Experimental and Teaching Demonstration Center for Electronic Information and Computer Science. The research and teaching platforms are equipped with advanced facilities and well managed, which provide a good environment for the creation of high-level professionals with excellent comprehensive quality.

The annual admission is about 60, and the undergraduates are about 240.
