About SEIE
The School of Electronic and Information Engineering is one of the key colleges of Beijing Jiaotong University. It consists of three departments: Information and Communication Engineering Department, Automatic Control Engineering Department, Electronic Engineering Department and the Institute of Light Wave Technology. It is a national teaching base for basic electrical and electronic engineering.
After years of development, some major disciplines, especially communication and information engineering, have reached the leading position in China. Under the guidance of Academician Jian Shisheng, some research achievements in optical fiber communication, optical fiber sensing, optoelectronic devices, IP routers, broadband communication and other aspects have even reached the international level. More importantly, traffic information engineering has achieved a leading position in the world. It has played an important role in ensuring the safety and high-speed operation of China's railways, and has brought huge economic and social benefits. In recent years, it has undertaken a number of tasks such as the national "973" and "863" high-tech plans, key natural science projects of the State Planning Commission and the Science and Technology Commission, and railway construction projects, accounting for 70% of the total funding. Our research funding has been steadily increasing.
The college has 282 faculty members. Among them, there is 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 chief scientist of "973", 36 professors, 68 associate professors and 12 senior engineers. 98% of teachers have a master's degree or above; 97.6% of the population holds a PhD. There are more than 2000 undergraduate students, 1100 graduate students and 400 doctoral students.
The university has 2 national key disciplines (Communication and information Systems, Traffic information Engineering and control), 3 ministerial key disciplines (Communication and information systems, Traffic information Engineering and control, electromagnetic field and microwave technology), There are 6 doctoral programs (Traffic Information Engineering and Control, Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology, Intelligent Traffic Engineering, Information Network and Security), and 10 master programs (Optical and Mobile Communication, Control Theory and Control Engineering, Traffic Information Engineering and Control, Communication and Information Systems, Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology, Environmental Engineering, Microelectronics and solid-State Electronics, Intelligent Traffic Engineering, Information Network and security) Whole, circuit and system); Two post-doctoral mobile stations (Communication and information systems, Traffic information Engineering and control), two enrollment disciplines of Changjiang Scholars (Communication and information systems, Traffic information Engineering and control), and one enrollment discipline of professional engineering Master (Electronic and Communication Engineering).
With the goal of building an internationally renowned high-level discipline, the teachers and students of our school will grasp the discipline direction, gather the team of scholars, build the academic foundation, improve the academic atmosphere, unite and be pragmatic, seek truth and innovate, and jointly create a better future for the discipline of electronic and information engineering.
