Electronic Science and Technology

Introduction:

Beijing Jiaotong University has a high-caliber faculty team in the discipline of “Electronic Science and Technology”, which includes Changjiang Distinguished Professors, recipients of the “National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, state-level candidates of the “New Century Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project”, national famous teachers, winner of “National Outstanding Youth Foundation”, and “New Century Excellent Talents” in University of Ministry of Education of China.

The discipline is equipped with advanced research and teaching platforms, such as the nationally accredited laboratory for “Electro Magnetic Compatibility”, the Key Laboratory of “All-Optical Network and Modern Communication Network” of the Ministry of Education, national teaching bases and experimental teaching centers. It undertakes significant research projects, including those under the National “973” Program, the National “863” Program, the Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and other national and provincial-level research initiatives.

Focusing on addressing major national needs in the electronics and information industries, and targeting international academic frontiers, the discipline has established leading research directions in electromagnetic fields and microwave technology, signal processing and electronic systems, and microelectronics and solid-state electronics.

Information and Communication Engineering

Introduction:

Beijing Jiaotong University has a long history in research and talent cultivation in the field of "Information and Communication Engineering." As early as 1981, the university began recruiting and training postgraduate students, making it one of the first institutions approved by the state to confer master's and doctoral degrees and establish a postdoctoral research station following the reform and opening-up policy. It is also among the first batch of national key first-level disciplines.

The discipline has a high-caliber faculty team, including members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, chief scientists of the National “973” Program, distinguished talents of the “Thousand Talents Plan” of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, leading talents of the “Ten Thousand Talents Plan”, members of the subject consultative group of Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, national famous teachers, Changjiang Distinguished Professors, recipients of the “National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, state-level candidates of the “New Century Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project”, and “New Century Excellent Talents” of the Ministry of Education. The team is composed of over 80 doctoral supervisors and more than a hundred teachers.

The discipline is equipped with high-level research platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of “Advanced Rail Transit Autonomous Operation”, the National Engineering Research Center of “Advanced Network Technologies”, the National Engineering Research Center of “Rail Transportation Operation Control System”, the Key Laboratory of “All-Optical Network and Modern Communication Network” of the Ministry of Education, and the nationally accredited laboratory for “Electro Magnetic Compatibility”. It also has high-level teaching platforms like the National Demonstration Center for Experimental “Electronic Information and Computer” Education and the National Virtual Simulation Experimental Center for “Rail Transit Communication and Control”. The discipline has undertaken numerous national projects, including those under the National “973” Program, the National “863” Program, the Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Major Project, and the National Key Technology Research and Development Program. It has received the National Award for Technological Invention and the National Teaching Achievement Awards, among other accolades.

Focusing on the major needs of the national information industry and sectors and targeting international academic frontiers, the discipline has established advantageous research directions, including optical communication, wireless and mobile communication, internet, and information and network security.

New-Generation Electronic Information Technology

Introduction:

New-Generation Electronic Information Technology is a professional degree closely associated with fields such as electronics, communication, control, computer science, electrical engineering, software, optoelectronics, instrumentation, as well as emerging directions like cyberspace security, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, integrated circuits, big data and cloud computing, Internet of Things, bioinformatics, and quantum information.

At Beijing Jiaotong University, the New-Generation Electronic Information Technology program primarily focuses on the acquisition, processing, encoding, transmission, and exchange of information. Specific research areas include digital communication and network technology, mobile communication, digital image processing, pattern recognition, modern wireless communication technology, electromagnetic fields, and microwave technology. The new generation of information technology encompasses a wide range of technologies and applications, offering significant potential for integration with traditional industries. It plays a crucial role in driving economic development and industrial restructuring.

The main research directions include: microwave and millimeter wave technology, intelligent information processing, and integrated circuit design and application.

Communication Engineering

Introduction:

The professional degree program for graduate students in the field of Communication Engineering at the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University, primarily focuses on Information and Communication Technology. This involves the application of information theory, communication theory, transmission and switching theory, and signal processing theory to study engineering science and technology issues such as signal detection, information acquisition, information transmission, information exchange, information processing and application, as well as the design and manufacturing of communication and network systems.

With communication technology as the core and information and communication application as the background, this specialized field delves into optical communication, wireless communication, network communication and cybersecurity, information processing and artificial intelligence, with the goal of cultivating senior engineering talents urgently needed by China's communication industry.

The main research directions include: all-optical networks for information security based on optical circuit switching; novel specialty optical fibers, optoelectronic devices, and fiber optic sensing; theories and key technologies of information networks; broadband mobile communication systems and dedicated mobile communication; mobile communication network security and social media computing; radio frequency front-end and antennas for wireless communication.

Artificial Intelligence

Introduction:

The Artificial Intelligence degree of Beijing Jiaotong University is a professional degree associated with the qualification of the engineering field, emphasizing engineering, practicality and application. The program is supported by high-level research platforms, including the Frontier Science Center for Smart High-Speed Railway System, the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Rail Transit Autonomous Operation, the National Engineering Research Center of Advanced Network Technologies, the National Engineering Research Center of Rail Transportation Operation Control System, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Rail Transit Safety, the National Research Center for Rail Transit Safety Assessment, the Key Laboratory of Railway Industry for Broadband Mobile Information Communication, the Key Laboratory of Railway Industry for Autonomous Train Operation Control, the Beijing Key Laboratory for Urban Rail Transit Automation and Control, and the National Accredited Laboratory for Electro Magnetic Compatibility. Additionally, the program boasts a high-caliber faculty team composed of renowned experts and professors in the fields of transportation automation, control, and communication, providing graduate students with excellent experimental conditions and research environments.

This field addresses the major demands of the national transportation industry, covering technologies such as intelligent information sensing, intelligent information transmission, and intelligent information processing.
