Pro. Shao Xiaotao from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering Awarded the Baosteel Excellent Teacher Prize
On November 16, 2024, the review conference of 2024 Baosteel Education Award was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Pro. Shao Xiaotao from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering was honored with the "Baosteel Excellent Teacher Prize."
The Baosteel Education Award is a major public welfare undertaking supported by the Baosteel Education Foundation to promote higher education in China. It is awarded annually and is one of the most prestigious educational awards in the country. The award aims to reward outstanding talents, promote respect for teachers and education, foster industry-academia collaboration, and support educational development.
Teacher Profile:
Shao Xiaotao is currently a professor at the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University. She is a renowned teaching expert in Beijing and a famous teacher in curriculum ideology and political education. She is responsible for the first batch of "National First-Class Courses," the Beijing "Curriculum Ideology and Politics Demonstration Course," and the "Teaching Team." She is also the chief editor of high-quality undergraduate textbooks in Beijing and a standing committee member of the Electromagnetic Field Teaching and Textbook Research Association of Higher Education Institutions.
Pro. Shao Xiaotao is dedicated to the Party's educational cause and has long been engaged in teaching and research. She is known for her rigorous scholarship, effective teaching, and deep care for her students, earning her widespread admiration from both students and peers. She has undertaken the teaching and development of multiple courses in the field of electronic information, emphasizing tailored teaching methods and the cultivation of students' knowledge, abilities, and qualities, with remarkable results. She has led over 30 municipal and university-level teaching reform projects and has authored or translated more than 10 textbooks. She has received numerous honors, including "Outstanding Individual in Teaching and Education," "My Most Beloved Teacher," "Teaching Style Model," "The Most Beautiful Classroom in Teaching and Education," "Teaching Expert," and "Curriculum Ideology and Politics Teaching Expert." Her research focuses on electromagnetic field theory and wireless communication technology, image processing, and target detection. She has led and participated in nearly 20 research projects, including 9 at the national level, and has published over 20 SCI/EI papers as the first or corresponding author.
