Our Textbook Awarded as the Top-quality Undergraduate Textbook of Beijing Universities in 2024 (Key Project)
Recently, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission announced the results of undergraduate teaching projects of Beijing Universities in 2024. The textbook Signals and Systems, edited by Chen Houjin and Li Yanfeng from our institute, was awarded the Top-quality Undergraduate Textbook of Beijing Universities in 2024 (Key Project).
The selection and development of Top-quality Undergraduate Textbooks of Beijing Universities aim to serve national and capital development strategies, support the construction of an independent knowledge system and the development of new productive forces, and promote the advancement of new engineering, new medical, new agricultural, and new liberal arts disciplines. These textbooks have a wide-reaching impact and high recognition among teachers and students, strongly supporting the reform of higher education teaching and continuously improving the quality of talent cultivation in Beijing's higher education.

Signals and Systems Digital Textbook

The "Signals and Systems" course is a fundamental engineering course for electronic information and electrical engineering majors in higher education institutions. It provides the theoretical foundation and analytical methods for new engineering disciplines characterized by informatization and intelligence. In response to the demands of the era, this digital textbook, Signals and Systems, was published with the integration of digital intelligence. It is the first digital textbook in the electrical field approved by Higher Education Press, playing a significant demonstrative and influential role nationwide. The editors have enriched and developed the textbook content with unique academic insights. With a profound legacy, the Signals and Systems textbook, first published in 2003, has been included in the National "11th Five-Year Plan" Textbook, National "12th Five-Year Plan" Textbook, and Strategic Emerging Fields Textbook of the Ministry of Education. The textbook has sold approximately 300,000 copies and has been adopted by over 200 universities across the country, receiving high recognition from experts and widespread praise from readers. Based on the textbook content, the "Signals and Systems" MOOC course was launched, with more than 300,000 students taking the course, consistently ranking first among similar courses nationwide.
The course team has deeply engaged in teaching research, achieving remarkable results by synchronizing textbook development with course and team building. The "Signals and Systems" course developed by the editors has been awarded the first batch of National Curriculum Ideology and Politics Demonstration Courses, National First-Class Undergraduate Courses, National Excellent Online Open Courses, National Excellent Resource-Sharing Courses, National Bilingual Teaching Demonstration Courses, and National Excellent Courses. Chen Houjin, the chief editor of the textbook, is a national teaching master and an outstanding individual in national textbook construction. Hu Jian is a Beijing municipal teaching master, and Li Yanfeng is a Beijing municipal young teaching master. All editors are core members of the National Curriculum Ideology and Politics Teaching Team.
