Professors and students from SEIE, BJTU attend the 2018 Intelligent Transportation System Conference in the United States

The 21st international conference on intelligent transportation systems (IEEE ITSC2018) is held in Hawaii, the United States, from Nov. 4-7, 2018. The conference was sponsored by the IEEE Society, including three Keynotes, 17 Workshops, 18 Special sessions, 38 Regular sessions and 4 Symposiums, attracted hundreds of academics and engineers  from many universities and enterprises together to exchange and discuss the latest intelligent transportation systems (its) development and opportunities and challenges. Professor Tang tao, dean of the school of and director of state key laboratory of rail traffic control and safety, led the team to participate in this grand meeting.

The paper published in this conference not only provided the latest technology of ITS research, but also showed the development direction of ITS in the future. Among them, SEIE professors and students published a total of 18 academic papers. Invited by the conference, professor Tang gave a report on "Fully Automatic Operation Technologies in Rail Transit Systems," which introduced the general situation of the development of China's Rail Transit, the application of Automatic Operation system in urban Rail Transit and realize the challenge for the high speed railway Automatic Operation, etc., and looked into the future of the next generation of the train control system which is "based on the car to car communication"

Professor Wang Haifeng delivered a report titled "Route Safety Verification of Train Control System by FTA Modeling in SCADE" at the "rail transit" symposium. Professor Zheng Wei made a special report on "Identification of Significant Factors Contributing to multi-attribute Railway Accidents Dataset (mara-d) Using SOM Data Mining" at the symposium on "computational intelligence and machine learning in transportation health management". Associate professor Lv Jidong delivered the "Complete Test Suite for the ctcs-3 Target Speed Monitor Based on IECP Test Theory" special report in the "advanced security system" sub-venue.

Associate professor Yin jiateng gave a report on "A two-stage Stochastic Optimization Model for passenger-oriented Metro Rescheduling with Backup Trains" at the "rail traffic management" offsite. In addition, student representatives Li Shichao, Wu Xingtang, Sheng Zhao, Liu Yafei, Liu Tong and Liu Wentao also delivered thematic reports on their respective papers in the sub-sessions of different research directions.
